Vacancy: Grants Officer at Royal Geographical Society (with IBG)

 
The Society seeks a Grants Officer to coordinate and promote its grants programme. The Society’s grants (www.rgs.org/grants) provide an important source of funding for research and training in geography.
The grants are wide-ranging and offer support to desk and field-based researchers, expedition teams, independent travellers and school teachers for work in the UK and overseas. During 2010 the Society provided more than £180,000 in grants (with individual grants ranging from £350 to £15,000), supporting more than 80 research, fieldwork and educational projects.
 
The Grants Officer reports directly to the Head of Research and Higher Education, but works across all key divisions of the Society encompassing research, education and outdoor learning. Complete details of the Society’s grants can be found on the website: www.rgs.org/grants

The position of Grants Officer is initially for a fixed term of one year; potentially renewable subject to finances. There is an initial three month probationary period. The post is salaried between £24,125 to £25,185 per annum depending on experience and qualifications.
